Mary Lee Anderson (Old Presbyterian Meeting House and Executive Director of Senior Services, City of Alexandria) and Jane King (Board Chair, At Home in Alexandria, and Member, Commission on Aging)

Alexandria was declared a “dementia-friendly” city in May 2019.  Since then, the DFA action team has provided useful information for the community to learn the best ways to interact with those living with dementia, and how to insure they maintain a high quality of life. In this session, we’ll address the different types of dementia, the difference between normal aging and dementia, and positive ways to communicate with individuals living with dementia.
