Fellowship opportunities abound at the Meeting House. Here are a few of the groups that meet regularly. Current meeting times and places are listed in the pew bulletins on Sundays. Contact the person listed -- or the church office -- for more information. Members and visitors are welcome to participate in these fellowship groups. 20-30s is a group of OPMH members and visitors, both married and single, who fall within the 20-30 age range. Current activities include Monday night dinner and discussion at the home of one of the members, brunch on the first Sunday of each month, a monthly book club, and a variety of informal activities organized via listserv. Celebration! (Married Couples) brings couples together for fellowship activities, educational opportunities, and communication workshops. Contact: Sarah or Atilla Kocsis. Spirit (Ages 55+) meets for lunches at church and trips to area attractions and exhibits. Contact: Glo Snead
Knitting Ministry meets the third Wednesday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m to work on knitting and craft projects to benefit church members and mission projects. Contact: Penny Bryan
Women’s Circles. Three circles meet monthly for fellowship and study. - Circle #4 meets at a member’s home from 10:00 a.m. to noon on the second Thursday of each month. Contact: Mariellyn Peake
- Circle #5 meets on the third Tuesday evening of the month in a member’s home. Contact: Priscilla McAndrews
- Circle #6 meets on the third Tuesday morning in the parlor of Elliot House. Contact: Marty Barolo
Prayer Groups. There are two women’s prayer groups.
- The morning prayer group meets every two or three weeks in the homes of its members. Contact: Linda Woodhouse, 703-212-8611.
- The evening prayer group, whose members include women from OPMH as well as other churches, gathers most Thursday evenings from 7:45 pm. For more information or to confirm that the group is meeting, call Ellen McCleskey or Ann Vernon.
Thursday Morning Men’s Bible Study meets Thursday mornings (except first Thursday) at 7:30 am in the Elliot House library for small-group Bible study. Contact: Casey Naatjes
Men’s Breakfast Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 am in Fellowship Hall for breakfast and a brief program. Contact: Mark Beerthuis
OPMH Zippers: Community groups (for folks that live in a particular zip code) that aim to create a closer bond among members through shared dinners, transportation and assistance. Contact: Peggy Jeens
