Meeting House Cooperative Preschool PDF Print E-mail

The Meeting House Cooperative Preschool (MHCP) is a service outreach program of the Old Presbyterian Meeting House that provides developmentally appropriate education in which preschoolers can learn and grow. The current program is in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with a slightly longer program until 1:30 p.m. for the ten oldest students. Due to city regulations and state licensure requirements, the program is limited to 81 children.

MHCP prides itself on being a cooperative preschool, where parents and teachers work together to meet the needs of every child. MHCP is also one of the only preschools in the area that has a program for inclusion of children with learning disabilities.

MHCP is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

We welcome children of all ability and economic means, and scholarship funds are available for applicants in need.

Applicants are chosen based on a priority system:

  1. Current students
  2. Minority or special needs students
  3. Siblings or alumni
  4. Church members
  5. At-large community
