What is the Ministry to the Congregation?

This ministry oversees fellowship groups, regular and special OPMH events, communication among the church congregation, and new member outreach and education.

The Congregational Events Committee coordinates weekly coffee hours or lemonade-on-the-lawn (summer) following Sunday worship, congregational dinners, Christmas Readings during Advent, as well as various special events.

The Communications Committee strives for improved intra-congregational information through the OPMH website and various printed materials.

The Outreach Committee works to improve awareness of OPMH within the community at large.

The Inquirers' Committee organizes and hosts occasional Inquirers' Classes, two-week Sunday morning gatherings for those interested in exploring membership in the church or just seeking more information about OPMH and the Reformed tradition. Each new member receives a warm welcome at a dinner for new members and is assigned a sponsor to ease transition into the church family. About 50 people per year attend this program.

The Transportation Committee ensures that those who may not be able to drive can still attend worship.
