Vacation Bible School – Registration forms are now available in the narthex, the church office, the Education Building, and our church website. The deadline for registration is May 31, 2007

Tuesday Night Bible Study: Study the Letter to the Galations on Tuesday Evenings at 7:30 in Flounder 1b. Classes continue through May 29.

Inquirer’s Class: Scheduled for Jane 3 and 10 from 8:30-9:45 am in Fellowship Hall. These sessions are designed for those considering membership in the Meeting House, or who have recently joined the church.

Fellowship, Study, and Prayer Groups:Youth: Meet at Cameron Run at 5 pm for mini-golf ($3 per person for groups of 10 or more) and batting cages ($1 for 16 pitches). Adults are still needed to chaperone the youth conferences or the youth cannot go. First Sundays with the Stephen Ministers: An informal time of fellowship following the 10:00 am service (the first Sunday of each month) in the Elliot House Parlor. We welcome all who are experiencing loss or struggling to find joy in their lives to meet, one-on-one, with a Stephen Minister. Call Susan Grandy (703.836.6701) if you have questions.

Community Ceili Dance: June 10 from 3-5:30 pm in Fellowship Hall. Learn Irish Ceili dancing with Dance Master Hugh Conway. Live music by the Irish Breakfast Band. Suggested donation: $5 per person. Refreshments available. All are invited.

Pentecost Offering: This offering will be received this Sunday. The Meeting House designates 40% to ALIVE. The remainder will support General Assembly programs for Child Advocacy and ministries with youth and young adults. Mark “Pentecost Offering” on the memo line and make checks payable to OPMH.

Family-to-Family Mission: This is one of the major mission projects of the Meeting House. Each week our volunteers process and approve some $1,600 to families in financial need. Clients are referred by social workers and checks are written directly to the company to which money is owed. About 100 checks are written each month.

Music:

Concert With A Cause: On June 8 at 8 pm, Bonnie Rideout, renowned Scottish Fiddler, will play. Rideout has 13 solo albums, and her CD A Scottish Christmas became a New York Time “Top Ten” Holiday Best Seller. Proceeds benefit the Christian Hospital at Taxila. American Presbyterian medical missionaries founded the hospital in 1922. It is known for delivering quality low-cost health care to residents of northern Pakistan. It is also known for prevention of blindness and restoration of sight.

Wayne Earnest will be taking a sabbatical this summer. Mrs. Ina Berkey will serve as organist during Wayne’s study period. Please join the Personnel and Worship Committees in welcoming Ina.

 Churchwide News:

Summer Worship Schedule: Beginning May 27, there will be one morning worship service at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary. During Sundays in June and July there will also be an evening service at 6:30 pm in Heritage Hall.
