Fellowship, Study, and Prayer Groups:

Youth: Dinner in Old Town this Sunday night from 5-7:30 pm. Bring money for food and tip.

20s/30s: All in this age group are welcome to join us for the Monday night dinner and discussion (except 2nd Mondays), First Sunday Brunch, and other occasional social events. The brunch this Sunday will be at Bilbo Baggins, and we leave from the church after the 11:00 service. First Sundays with the Stephen Ministers: An informal time of fellowship following the 11:00 am service (the first Sunday of each month) in the Elliot House Parlor. We welcome all who are experiencing loss or struggling to find joy in their lives to meet, one-on-one, with a Stephen Minister. Call Susan Grandy (703.836.6701) if you have questions.

Men’s Group: The Men’s Breakfast scheduled on April 5, during Holy Week, is canceled. The May Breakfast will feature David Gardner as the guest speaker on May 3. The weekly Bible Study meets in the Library at 7:30 am on Thursday mornings. Come if you are interested.

Next Sunday: We receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. The offering is to be shared by the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger, and Self Development of People programs.

Lenten Challenge: Time is running out! The challenge will end Easter week, so it you want to do something that doubles in value, make a Lenten gift to the United Orphanage and Academy in Moi’s Bridge, Kenya. After a trip to the Orphanage this summer, the Meeting House has joined Westminster in partnership with the orphanage, which is currently home to 43 children. A Westminster member has offered to match gifts to the orphanage up to $10,000 as a Lenten challenge. So far, $2,765 was been donated. Rebuilding Together: On Sat., April 28th, the Meeting House will join with other groups all around Alexandria for a “blitz” day of home repairs for low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners. The Meeting House will be responsible for a single house, so we need lots of volunteers (both skilled and unskilled).
