Community Coalition for Haiti to support the people of Pignon, Haiti Community Coalition for Haiti (CCH) is a community effort spearheaded by members of Vienna Presbyterian Church, Fairlington Presbyterian Church, and First Baptist Community Church of Vienna. The group's goal is to improve health care in Pignon, a remote mountainous Haitian village; the effort is an outgrowth of earlier visits by medical teams to the area as far back as the 1980s. In addition to helping at the hospital or pharmacy and working on public health issues, CCH members have addressed agriculture, infrastructure, and educational matters in order to help strengthen the local health, economy, and Christian community. CCH is also active at local schools and orphanages. The Meeting House provides financial support to CCH and building support for Pastor Sanvaal's church and school in Pignon, including support for a CCH benefit concert in 2005. Dr. Guy, head of the Pignon medical center, worshipped at the Meeting House in 2005. Six Meeting House members have participated in four mission trips to Haiti through 2005, with one trip in 2006. The Meeting House portion of the 2005 Peacemaking Offering was earmarked for CCH, and a Meeting House women's circle sponsors a Haitian child's tuition.
