Family-to-Family, the primary OPMH mission program, provides emergency aid to the working poor. Case-by-case awards—a maximum of $100 every four months—are made based on referrals from local social workers and the Queen Street Clinic for the Medically Uninsured. Last year this program assisted more than 1,500 local families and distributed $136,792. It prevented evictions, utility stoppages, and helped to pay prescriptions and medical tests, among other things, for recipients who could not otherwise afford them. The program is administered by Meeting House volunteers and entirely funded through the OPMH budget.
