We care deeply about our college students and younger adults, many who go away after high school. In the fall, the middle and high school youth send each student a care package to let them know we are thinking about them and keep them in our prayers. When our college students are home from college, we meet up for lunch over the Thanksgiving break, have an annual white elephant party just before Christmas, and have several get-togethers over the summer months.

Our college students are also invited to attend several retreats and work camp trips. Over the New Year’s break, college students attend the college conference at Montreat. They are always welcome to join the group to go to Montreat over the summer as part of the work crew. College students are welcome to be part of any of the OPMH work camp trips. If you are between the age of 18 and 23 and are in town for an extended period of time, please contact Alice Tewell.

Summertime College Fellowship at OPMH

Join us this summer for fellowship, worship, study, and service!

Sunday Evening Fellowship:

For 6 Sundays in June and July, OPMH College aged students (approx age 18-24) are invited to join us for casual contemporary worship from 6:30-7:30 pm in Heritage Hall. Then, join us for a light dinner and conversation from 7:45-9:30 pm.   Conversation will be around the worship service we just experienced, the connection between the Bible and our contemporary lives, those big theological questions, or something you suggest.

Tuesday Evening Bible Study:

Join recent college grad/ upcoming Presbyterian Young Adult Volunteer Juli Smith to engage in Bible study. Time, location, and specific dates TBD.

Mentoring… for you! 

A group of OPMH adults from just a few years out of college to grandparent age has just formed (in May 2010) to be a support/ mentoring group for you as you go through your college years. This group wants to help keep you connected to OPMH, connect you to churches/ campus ministries while you are away at school, and be ears to listen. More information to follow.
