A Letter to Families About the Cancellation of Vacation Bible School 2020

April 27, 2020

Dear Families,

We are writing to let you know that, in consultation with the Meeting House staff and Education Ministry, we have decided to cancel this year’s Vacation Bible School, which was scheduled to take place June 29–July 2, 2020.

We were very much looking forward to this event, as we know many of you were. We are truly saddened that we will not be able to spend time this summer laughing and playing games in the courtyard and burial ground, listening to exciting Bible stories in Flounder, singing and dancing together in the sanctuary, and creating works of art or conducting science experiments in Fellowship Hall.

We have made this decision out of an abundance of caution and a deep desire to love vulnerable members of our community the best way we know how, by maintaining physical distancing.

For those who have already registered, we are happy to provide you with a refund. Alternatively, you may donate your registration fee to help offset the costs of ongoing programming with our children’s ministry. Please let Noelle Castin know your preference.

We are available to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for your understanding!

Beth Simmons & Karen Chipman, VBS Co-Directors
Noelle Castin, Director of Christian Education
